Who We Fund & the Selection Process

Each year, Bunnies sends a “Call of Beneficiaries” inviting local organizations to submit a grant proposal to satisfy a specific need for funding. In the last few years, Bunnies has selected between 10 to 15 beneficiaries to fund. The requirements for consideration are simple:

  • a description of the prospective organization or program
  • a specific amount requested to be funded
  • a copy of the latest tax filing
  • proof of 501(c)3 status

The beneficiaries typically fall within 3 discernible categories: Health and Wellness, Community Development and Education. With this model of funding, Bunnies on the Bayou is able to support and satisfy a wide array of needs within the local LGBT community. Below is a sampling of some of the programs funded in our 36th year:

  • Health & Wellness

    • 2,000 direct care hours for individual suffering from disease related muscle loss
    • Over 5,000 meals for a free lunch program
    • Over 600 free health screenings
