AFH has been reaching out to the LGBTQ community with its community-based education and awareness programs since the founding of the organization in 1982. Montrose Grace Place’s mission is to provide a safe, welcoming environment for vulnerable homeless youth of all sexualities and genders, providing nourishment, healthy relationships, and hope for the future. They have requested requesting funding to ensure each of its youth can receive a bus card at each youth night. Currently Grace Place funding limits youth to just one $5 bus card a week, which limits their ability to get around the city. Bus and train transportation for Grace Place youth is vital to ensuring they’re able to attend school, job interviews, work, appointments with doctors and other providers, and much more.
